The software that is growing so popular and is said to find the best deals online by searching hundreds of online stores is creating some scam claims on the internet. Looks like many aren’t getting what they were promised. The all article that’s used to advertise the software sounds just like a scam, like most famous scams they offer you a product usually buy and resell after promising that they’ll make you thousands.
A particular area that alerts me the most is the fact that you’ll have to pay around $197 for the software and $30 a month for the ‘license’. Doesn’t that sound like a scam product? I would understand if it was on a reselling arrangement, but a product that you have to give away for free and still pay a monthly fee, does not sound right. If the company of shopping genie legitimately wanted to give away the application for free then anyone should be able to distribute it, after all the only way that I can imagine the company will make money from their application is if everyone is using it!
The software is called Myshoppinggenie. There are more scams on the internet related to the same program so watch out!

I am earning via pay-per-click income from being a distributor of My Shopping Genie and I am earning a nice income. Many of the scam claims are more for other shopping genie apps. Where exactly are the claims on the net that people are not finding the cheapest deal as everyone who installed the My Shopping Genie App, I have distributed, have been more than happy and not uninstalled it! This App is totally FREE to the user and the distributor earns via pay-per-click just as google would as 1 in 5 of Google’s searches is a paid search – why can’t someone like me be able to earn an income from this by moving with the times? I think it’s bloody fantastic, so do my App users, I have had outstanding reviews. Get the app for yourself and make up your own mind – http://www.freegenieuk.co.uk

So here’s my take on it.
The people behind the Company have all been sucessful in other feilds.
The software does what it says it will do. It finds the cheapest prices on line.
No data is collected. No adware is installed.
So here’s the maths.
Install one free App per day for one year. You will be paid +/- $3.00 per APP, per month, for life.
So that adds up to (3 x 363 12) $13,140 per annum. for life. Your money is paid directly into your bank account. No cash involved.
It costs (29 x 12) $348 per year to manage your account and websites.
That leaves a net gain of $12,792.
I can see no catch. You do not have to introduce anybody into the business to avail of this. You simply have to buy a lifetime licence for $199.
It’s working for me. I’ve never been involved with a networking marketing company before in my life. But if we always do what we always did, we always get what we always got. markhurley@dublin.ie

i started the genie about six weeks ago and i have a good income coming in from it, i paid for the licence which is $199 and then just sent the free genie to friends and family so they could use it to save money online when they purchase products, then they started to send it to their friends and it just started to snowball, i now have around 600 people who have the genie on their computers and at $3.00 per person per month its not a badd incme is it for just giving something away for free which helps people save money online, sow ere is the scam ???? if you want to earn money from the genie you have to pay for the licence which is only $199 then consider how many friends you can give it to for free its not hard work, try it for free just type or copy and paste this into your browser at the top of your computer and check it yourself ????

Hi Guys
I think the company of myShoppingGenie is scamming its distributors. I was told I would have about $3 from each Genie installed but the reality is different.
I never had $3 per Genie and last 2 months the average income from each Genie has falllen below $0.40
If it goes on this way the PPC income will be fiction and business will become a typical pyramid
where the only money you earn is from new people enrolment

Well, at this stage it does seem appealing to pay the money ,sponsor a group of contacts and then watch what comes back to you; I suggest opening a dedicated visa card account with $199 plus 3 monthly payments .. total capital risked is only
$286:00 ! If inbound revenue is sufficient to cover your monthly payments.. keep on running it .
If on the otherhand no moulla comes in, close your
visa acct and Whistle dixie……….Ralphus

Let’s look at it like this…For a very low investment of $199 (approx £130.00) you are able to give away a FREE app to all your friends, family, colleagues etc. The app saves them money every time they shop on-line. There are 2 way’s to make money – earn it or save it. For just that initial $199 you can earn a residual income without ever introducing another person into the Company. Remember- you also earn BUY income as well as PPC. $30 per month covers all the maintenence and upgrades to your Genie, which you can co-brand with a direct link to your Business, if you have one. It is a No-Brainer for me – and I am earning money with it!!

I am somewhat confused by the different earning potential posts i see for this. It has been posted above that the income is ongoing each month regardless of giving away the product each month, surely this can not be correct.
I understand that I have to pay $199 for a one off payment then £29 per month thereafter, OK, lets says I give away 100 genies in my first month, I get £3 for each who download the genie + PPC for the usage of those 100. Now lets look at next month, I don’t give away any genies or sign up any new distributers, in other words I do nothing, what do I earn ? the post above shows ongoing monthly income for the previous months dowloads but surely you only get the PPC revenue in month 2. Could someone please clarify this as it seems a little muddy how the earnings are generated in month 2,3,4 etc.

Hi everyone, I posted on here some time ago when I had not long joined My Shopping Genie, now I have between 5-10 Genies automatically falling into my account every day just by marketing my business online, I also receive between 15-20 enquiries each week from potential distributors. I have built this business up and have treated it like any business where you have all to tools necessary and just need to promote/market your product/services – I have purely done this online – its working for me and the potential as it it opened up to more countries globally just keeps everything growing so my genie installs can only increase too! I have not even cheated and used Google Adwords and many of my websites are showing on page 1 of Google for many different search terms just visit http://www.myfreeshoppinggenie.co.uk and check out my visitor counter!!

You’re not the ones making big money. The Anti-virus programmers are & will keep on if you keep up with this tradition. Keep piling up the jobs for them and then 1 day they just say, “I’m going farming!” Pretty later, the demand for new programmers crop up while the old ones are on some fine beach with pina coladas. Where will your system & money be? In their hands of course.
Stop. Just stop. The internet is not a shopping tool. It’s a means of communication. All you see of making money online (unless you’re a programmer or pretty much good at software development and know how to manipulate techs) is an illusion. Go write. That’s a much lucrative & better way to make money. Don’t ever let the system take control, ppl! That’s bad news.

I don’t get it. Where does the $3 per user per month come from ? If the shopping genie finds the lowest price, where does the money come from ?

What happens when everyone has a genie on their computer?
How can it be sustained?
Does this software work in conjunction with google PPC?
Does it find its own results, or simply disguise a real search engine’s results?
Doesn’t amazon.com already have the SEO capabilities / strength to be unreliant on MyScammingGenie?
Ever heard of google product search?
Who do all the users / distributors have the same arguments for this?
I have read that one programmer wrote the software. How technical can it be, or is it just a sca_m?
Why has the product not ben patented?
Why is there no app available for mac?
Seems to me like all this hype around being a distributor etc is simply distracting normal people from seeing the truth that this is an unethical, unsustainable ancient technology, with no trademarks or patent (idiots!) that does the same as google?
Is it that the owners don’t want trademarks to remove any ties to them?
If someone can answer these questions, i’d love to hear from you!

@Steve Cubbins: Myshoppinggenie is affiliated to all the stores it supports. Each time someone buys a product through the Myshoppinggenie they get a percentage of the sale on that product. It works similarly to being an Amazon, Ebay or Google Adsense affiliate.

Myshoppinggenie is an APP. Does it work yes. Is it the best APP for getting the best price? NO. Can I make money from it? Probably not. This is a MLM opportunity (Multi Level Marketing). If you’re joining now then you’re too late. Does it have long term potential? NO. The web moves too fast it will be gone in 12 months and no one will remember it other than those who lost money on it. Good luck.

I suggest the reviewer should actually do a proper review rather than have a particular point of view before writing anything. The review is, by definition, expected to be written from an intelligent understanding of the material. The review here shows very clearly that the writer has no effective understanding of the product. Suck eggs!!

I laugh when I read the above comments from people who have been in the genie a few weeks and think they are being paid – has any money arrived in your bank account – NO – just because you have been fooled by your back office commissions table doesn’t mean you will ever see a dime. I know MSG distributors who have never been paid in six months even though the back office tells them they are rich – Mynetuniverse is going broke so don’t expect any payments.

Hi Everyone,
I am a Business Management Student at Lancaster University who is researching Multi-Level-Marketing and specifically MLM online. I have been following the comments by everyone on this forum and I am really interested in what everyone has had to say, and to be honest I’m intrigued as to why there is such an extreme divide in opinion over the MyShoppingGenie product.
As part of my research i bought a licence last summer and have been trying to build commissions and follow the Genie’s business plan on a small scale, in order to have a better understanding of this MLM Company. One thing which has struck me, and seems to be an issue with others on this forum, is the fact that commissions recently have been significantly lower than the $3 per month for one download that is ‘advertised’ on the MyshoppingGenie Website, and to be honest claimed by many of the founding distributors at several of the seminars and webinars that I have been to accross the UK.
I would like to ask for people’s opinions and thoughts on their perception of MyShoppingGenie as a product and a brand. I’ve noticed that this forum (like many others online) has people who are aggressively for and against the product. I am trying to conduct my research on this subject from as neutral a position as possible, and I will use empirical data in addition to Qualitative data in order to come to any conclusions. I would greatly appreciate anyones quality input, similar to some of the thoughts and opinions that have already been expressed…

lmao…the folks who can’t see opportunity call it a scam. The ones who see opportunity call it Free Enterprise.
Hey folks. Its what you make of it. Glass half empty or half full.
The ones who keep crying scam or ripoff are probably just like the democratic party here in the US….always got their hand out wanting something for nothing.
I have several businesses…..from being a Sales Rep in the Oil & Gas Industry, owning a Spa, rental properties, MLM, and yes a Genie Distributor. And oh yea…LIFE is Great.
For all you Non Entrepreneurs on here, you should try it sometime the money is great

Hi guys ive been involved with myshoppinggenie now for the last 5 months,at first i had my doubts about the company and i wasnt sure if it was for me or not because i read the reports on it about being a scam and living in Ireland i could not have missed the RTE report on television. so why did i get involved? Well if it was a scam its the worst ive ever seeen because there wasnt one report or blog saying that anybody actually lost money Not One, some scam..I have personally gave out 200 genies free and im making about $1 a month on them which i expected because people over here arent really that uptodate with internet shopping ,which will change i hope.To end $30 a month paid out $200 a month in some scam check my own blog out which ive just built get your free genie or come join me http://www.join-my-shopping-genie.com

I don’t think it’s a scam… it’s just another mlm that people are always wary of. I joined for a short time, got great support from the company etc. I started by sending it to a few friends for their opinion. They didn’t believe it found the best deals throughout the net & were annoyed at the bar coming up every time they went to the internet. Even for free, they didn’t want to keep it. So… I chose to not continue.

@Blacke: Dude…seriously! WTF are you talking about? I know people personally who make more in a month working from home then ANY PROGRAMMER will EVER make in a YEAR! Your comment about forgoing trying to make money online is about as RETARDED as some old geezer telling his child that they NEED to go to college in order to EVER make good money!
@Admin: In regards to sales from searches, I assume that in the ‘back office’, there’s a way for the distributor to enter their Amazon Associate ID? If so, then what about if they’re a Wal-Mart affiliate as well?
@Dave: You make some valid points! Here’s my take on your comment:
* First off, because there’s no “Mac” version, MyShoppingGenie (MSG) can’t, at this point, EVER be installed on every pc.
* It finds REAL SERP results based on SEO of the sites (ebay, Amazon, Buy, Etc., etc) that it’s configured to work with! It’s almost a mini-browser IMHO!
* Yes, Amazon is SEO’d good enough to be found in most product searches, but that doesn’t always mean those rankings equate to the ‘lowest possible price’.
* I know about Google’s Product Search, as I’m sure a lot of other people do as well, but when it comes to ‘convenience’, even I will almost go to Google.com and use the search results to find the lowest price. It’s like saying..”you know what a car’s turn signal is…right? Well, since they’re installed on EVERY CAR in the world, how many drivers use them? Get my drift?
* The issue that I see with MSG is not what it does…that…finding the lowest prices for whatever it is you’re searching for…works! What I dont like is that the only money transfer is made when you sign-up someone else to simply ‘rebrand’ the software! There’s no money made when someone downloads the freebie…unless all this talk about PPC commission is getting left out in the sales presentation.
@Verno: The whole first paragraph of the OP’s original article is ALL TRUE..thus, I fail to see how they’re possibly pulling false info out of their arses! 2nd paragraph is merely the OP’s personal opinion regarding the overall ‘selling’ of MSG. So, thanks for your unintelligent post, which served to neither add to the discussion about the legitimacy of MSG.
@Shanelle: While I applaud your success in the many business opportunities you seem to have started over the years, you still don’t see MyShoppingGenie from the point of being an actual “affiliate marketer”, where in that world, there are things such as ‘software’ that someone can pay to ‘put their name on’…it’s called PLR (Private Lable Rights)….which basically means you can put YOUR NAME ON IT and claim it as yours…you just can’t change ANYTHING ABOUT IT!
On the other hand, there’s also what’s called MMR, or “Master Resell Rights”, which not only allows you to put your name on the said object (Book, Software, etc., etc.,) and call it as your own, but you’re also free to change the contents of it as well.
This is where MSG falls short! Sure, I can buy a ‘license’ for under $200 dollars and give it away, but the only money I’d make is from the SMALL % of PPC (Pay Per Click) earnings. But I would have to get “my” MSG installed onto a lot of PCs’ given the fact that the average person goes searching to buy something about 82 times a month. Assuming even a respectable $.25 cents payout on a pay-per-click basis…over the course of 1-month, from one person, I would have made a whopping $20.50. Of course, if I had “My” genie on 1000 pcs, then I’m looking at over $20,000 dollars. But how long would it take to get 1000 installs? who knows, but even if that was accomplished in say 30 days, that doesn’t mean EVERYONE is going to use it!
@jackiet1: There was a video on YT WAY BEFORE YOUR POST that detailed how one distributor and a good part of their down-line WERE NOT getting paid from the powers that be behind MyShoppingGenie…so, I don’t think you really searched hard enough to find the most relevant facts…..

Please be very careful when you join the my shopping genie business. I joined in September 2010 and subsequently cancelled in February 2011 due to big problems with my commissions owed. It is now 20th June 2011 and after around 20 emails to this company I have not received a penny in commissions owed.

@Cody > See, you don’t know just WTF i said there, right? That’s what they all said for swisscash too. You may know some people personally as i do too & i know what they do as i do too. It makes no difference how you may think you’re earning. There are no true public stats or figures to show what the anti-virus programmers truly earn actually. Therefore, we know your words mean nothing much really. Again, there already are public reports of the shopping genie being scammers and those who subscribed not earning a single penny. If those are not true from within shopping genie itself, don’t you think the security for credit facilitation has already been compromised?
