AOL Hot Searches:

Aol has dedicated a whole section of pages which will provide you some ideas what people are searching for around the world. You can view some of the popular keywords through day or under a particular category, also giving you some idea of what people will want to search for in the future.
Ask.com IQ:
Check here to see the popular or top keywords on Ask search. Some of the categories you can see the top searches are Top Searches, Top News Searches, Top Advancing Searches, Top Movies. This also gives you a pretty good idea of how people are using Ask search engine.
Dogpile SearchSpy:
Catch a glimpse of some of the searches being performed on Dogpile.com.
See what the rest of the world is searching for at this moment. This is another place you could find out what people are searching for on the web. A related site MetaCrawler offers a similar MetaCrawler MetaSpy service.
Google Trends:

Yahoo Buzz Index:
