I saw the documentary in 96 or 97, but it may have been made even earlier than that. It was a very powerful documentary, and I wish I knew the title and how I can purchase it. Any help? Thanks! Since 2004 I have been searching for the title of a movie that I viewed on HBO during the spring of that year. Unfortunately, when I returned to the guide to look for the name, it was no longer available. Although I didn't watch the entire movie, here's a tidbit of what I captured. The setting took place in Compton. The main characters were a an African-American boy who wore bifocals and resembled Buckwheat; the other, a Caucasian male in his mid-twenties whom I thought was Jamie Kennedy. The boy had run away from home, and as a result, his picture appears on the back of a milk carton with a cash reward. Towards the end of the story, the adult character walk into a corner store to buy a carton of milk. During his visit, the store is robbed by a group of black men that he knows. Unaware of what's taking place, the Caucasian male calls out the full name and address of one of the robbers who denies knowing him. Then the Caucasian male goes to a local park and sits on a park bench next to the runaway, who asks to borrow money to catch a bus to leave town. The adult convinces the child to return home. When the child leaves, the adult realizes that the child's face is on the back of the milk carton with a large cash reward. When he calls in to the radio station to inform them of the child's whereabouts, it's too lat because he has already returned home to his dysfunctional family. Greetings!
